May Sans Year is a ready-made accidential artifact we got while recording by the river in the forest in the rain in the middle of Moscow.

We went into the forest to record the Shopot Arkestra (whisper - in Russian). Suddenly it started raining, we lost the acoustic space and decided to trip into the music without sound. Then the river overflowed and entered the tape recorder and the noise of the rain mixed with the noise of electronics. The river and the forest were soloing and we were there. And we're still there.

Sofya made a film about that trip and someday you will definitely see it.

Nagra IV-S is a professional tape recorder produced in 1971-1986 by Kudelski Group (Switzerland). Nagra IV-S is a stereo version with 15 inch per second speed and 75db signal to noise ratio. It was widely used in analog sound era for location recording in music and film production.

The Nagra was not damaged during this recording. She dried up and works clearly. Beautiful machine was made like a tank or an airplane.

try to decentre your hearing to a maximal point of unrecognition of objects — the rustling of clothes, trees, grass, ground, river, sky, inner hearing of the other. everything is undifferentiated. when you reach an unrecognition of the sounding world around you, as from the deep of a hazy mental journey, slipping on the surface of erased distinctions, start to make your own rhythms, avoiding the deliberate production of sound. these could be movements (with accidental sounds), visual or tactile contact (accidental sounds), or breathing. be present in this state for a long time. distinguish accidental sounds, but do not pay too much attention to them, and do not play with them. at any moment in the performance switch to ‘conscious’ playing, using at-hand sound objects (clothes, backpack fabric, body, etc.). not aggressively, but tenderly, embedding the instruments into the performance.

if you notice the ensemble partner(s) entering the performance whilst you are still inside your own performance, and before you have exited it, enter into a free interaction and leave playing into a state of non-action. if not — simply exit from playing to the state of non-action alone. after, observe for a long time how nothing is going on (if nothing is going on).

если вы заметили партнёро_к по ансамблю вступившими в исполнение, пока вы не вышли из него, окажитесь в свободном звуковом взаимодействии и выйдите из игры в бездействие свободно. если нет — выйдите из игры в бездействие самостоятельно. затем долго наблюдайте, как ничего не происходит, если ничего не происходит
